The Faculty of Education
was inaugurated in 1991 as part of the University of
Kordofan. It is the base upon which the University of
Dalang has grown.
Objectives of the Faculty
1.
To equip the
students with the necessary knowledge and skills in
order to be able to become excellent teachers in general
schools. The students are also given the skills to be
able to participate in the development of syllabuses and
methods of teaching.
2.
To assist the
students in carrying out research and theoretical
studies in the field of education and knowledge with the
objective of improving the performance in various
educational institutes around Sudan.
3.
To provide
training services and skills building for the other
faculties of the University and to provide educational
services to the University lecturers.
4.
To work with the
Ministry of Education and Federal Education and local
ministries and other institutions of education
countrywide, providing consultants and services.
5.
Through
appropriate programs and activities, to disseminate
information about local, state and federal issues to do
with all aspects of education.
6.
To encourage
the development and animation of national customs and
traditions to reflect the variety of cultures and
languages as part of the progress of national unity.
7.
To add to the
human heritage and world-knowledge in the field of
education.

Lecturing staff, Teaching
Assistance and Technicians at various points in their
academic careers work with the students to produce a
high standard of work.
From (1991-1998) there
were about 8 batches totaling 2, 289 students.
The number of registered
students is 2, 178.
The Faculty of Education's
Schools
The Faculty of Education
established two schools in 2000. It began with Selman
Elfarisi Intermediate School for Boys and Am Ma'abad
Secondary School for Girls. The objective of these
institutions is to assist the employees of the
Universities with a special education for their children
and to add to the structure of the Faculty of Education
providing an environment for research in education and
training for trainee teachers. About four batches have
been admitted and one batch has graduated. The schools
follow the two terms per year system developed by the
Ministry of Education.
The total number of
students in the two schools is 156. There are 33
teachers. The current administrator of the girl's school
is Wida'a Ahmed El Tyeeb Ahmed.
